Three spacious days of scent, watercolor, reflection, shared meals, and quiet attention in the Sonoran Desert.
Sonoran Oasis began with a simple invitation: to step away from ordinary pace and spend a few days paying attention.
We gathered in the desert with room to rest, make, notice, wander, eat together, and follow what was asking for our attention.
Nothing needed to be accomplished.
The practice was simply to arrive, stay awhile, and see what became visible.
The Sonoran Desert shaped the gathering.
Our days included botanical scent, scented watercolor, quiet sensory practices, conversation, shared meals, time outdoors, and long stretches with nowhere else to be.
Participants were invited to move between guided experiences and unstructured time — enough structure to feel held, enough freedom to follow their own rhythm.
The gathering was designed as an experience, not a class. No previous art or perfume experience was needed.
THE RHYTHM OF THE GATHERING
DAY ONE — ARRIVE
We settled into the house, shared a meal, met one another, and began with scent and a simple sensory practice.
DAY TWO — NOTICE
The longest day held both guided practice and spaciousness: scented watercolor, perfume materials, time outside, conversation, rest, swimming, wandering, and whatever each person needed more of.
DAY THREE — RETURN
We gathered once more, reflected on what we had noticed, and made something small to carry the experience home.
The schedule was intentionally porous. Participation was always an invitation rather than an obligation.
This gathering took place March 31–April 2, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona.
It was the first multi-day Sonoran expression of the practice that continues to evolve through Aromatic Traditions — gathering in a particular place, paying attention through the senses, making from what is encountered, and allowing meaning to arise in its own time.
This gathering is now complete.

Pay Attention → Deepen Relationship → Return Often
Bettina joined the 2026 Sonoran Oasis gathering as a guest practitioner, bringing somatic awareness and gentle body-based practices into the shared experience.
Her contribution offered another doorway into listening — noticing sensation, movement, rest, and the body’s own way of knowing.
