We live in a time of great challenges. A dear friend asked me “how does one keep their heart open during difficult times?”. Good question! At my perfumer’s bench I searched for an answer. Rose Damask and Mexican Lime spoke up first…two perfume friends I’ve been playing with for many years. Next a beautiful antique French Vanilla resin chimed in bringing warmth and comfort. Litsea Cubeba added a lemon lift and Pink Pepper contributed a bit of zing. There the perfume rested for several weeks. Still, the question lingered…ahhhh grounding. To ground the heart I added ancient, earthy and very rare Pink Lotus to a fresh Raspberry infused alcohol, and deepened the roots with a hint of grassy Vetiver.
Awakened Heart – a beautiful, grounded floral perfume is born.
Fragrance notes: Rose Damask, Pink Lotus, Ruh Khus (Vetiver), French Vanilla, Litsea Cubeba, cold pressed Lime, Pink Pepper, fresh Raspberry infused alcohol.

Natural or Botanical perfumes are designed using essential oils, absolutes, CO2’s and tinctured alcohol or oil (perfumer’s diluent or base). Wear like you would any other perfume, however, reapply more often as natural or botanical perfumes have less sillage or they don’t emit aroma beyond a limited space. This makes natural or botanical perfumes more appealing as they are more intimate.
