Susan Varga developed an appreciation for botanical and formulating at an early age when at 8 years old, her Easy-Bake oven turned into a flower drier and distiller. Susan went to art school, spent a few years in commercial art and in the corporate business world before starting the Morning Glory café in Flagstaff, AZ. Over 30 years ago, Susan was ahead of the times, promoting wholesome organic foods, medicinals and personal health care. After an exciting interlude as a whitewater guide and National Park ranger, Susan became a massage therapist, teacher and one of the founders of the Sierra Center for Oncology massage. Susan owned a retail facility, the Earth Wisdom store and the Healing Arts Studio in Mansfield, PA where she started her first personal health care product line, Lilly’s Essential Products, later to become Aromatic Traditions, which linked her passion for traditional medicinals, personal skin care and perfumery. Blue Pearl lotion remains a favorite for many to this day. Susan perfected her interests with study alongside multiple notable teachers. A spiritual and conscientious essence is infused in every product and work Susan has ever done.
Today, Susan lives and works from her home in the beautiful Skagit Valley of Northern Washington where she maintains her office, laboratory and perfumer’s organ. Her experience in business, retail sales, formulation and botanicals has made Aromatic Traditions the consulting, formulating and perfume success it remains today.
Talking to Sue at Aromatic Traditions gave me the information and confidence I needed to start making forward progress on custom essential oil blends for my small local health food store.
Her knowledge and resources were just what we needed to know where to start. She is a wealth of information and always encouraging and helpful. Tailoring to suit our specific needs. Thank you Sue!
